The Royal Hall has been magnificently restored at a cost of £10.7 million and additional works have been completed as described earlier.
The Trust is currently examining the feasibility of a major re-development of the rear terrace by replacing the existing canvas screen with a heat-retaining glass roof and curtain wall. This would be allied with the creation of a memorial garden to the rear of the Royal Hall to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War. This project could only go ahead with the help of a Lottery funding grant for which the Trust would have to provide match funding of 25%. The cost of this project has not yet been determined.
