We are a registered charity whose Object is “The preservation and restoration for the public benefit of the Royal Hall in Harrogate” being a building of particular historical and architectural interest. The Trust’s Charity number is 1090032.
The Trust was formed in 2001 to raise funds towards the restoration of the Royal Hall in Harrogate. The Trust contributed over £2.7 million towards the restoration programme and this ensured the success of a major project between 2006 and 2008 to restore the building to its former glory.
Following the re-opening of the Royal Hall in April 2008, the Trust has contributed an extra £100,000 to carry out further improvements that were omitted from the major project on grounds of cost or timescale. These additional works included the provision of new ‘star’ dressing rooms; acoustic improvements to the stage, and further development of the Heritage Lounge.
The Trust is currently engaged in several other improvement works and is investigating the feasibility of a major new project to improve the rear terrace.
